When you ask a company to come into your home and take care of a problem, you are going to want to know how long the entire process will take. The company you talk to should be able to provide you with a time estimate.
In most cases, the company should be able to remove the bats from your home in a day or two. However, they may want to monitor your home for a little bit longer than that. Talk to them about their process so that you can see how long things will take.
How Much Do You Charge?

Are You Insured?
If someone is injured while the bats are being removed, you’ll want to make sure that you won’t be liable for their injuries. You shouldn’t agree to work with a company unless you know they have the appropriate amount of insurance. Do Bats Live In Caves?
Many people wonder, Do bats live in caves? The short answer is yes, but let’s explore further. Bats like any dark location that they can hang upside down from.
They don’t like to be disturbed when they’re sleeping so they tend to roost in high locations such as attics, old barns, mines, and caves. These offer them the best of both worlds. They’re relatively undisturbed when sleeping, and they’re safe.
Caves are an ideal location for bats and more than one visitor to a cave has been surprised when they were too noisy and the colony of bats flew out. For this reason, many caves that allow tours will tell the tourists that they have to be quiet in certain portions of the cave.
This means quiet by the way, sudden noises can cause the entire colony to startle and fly out. Bats are an endangered species so it’s illegal to eradicate a colony of bats regardless of where they’re located.
For this reason, most bats are allowed to make their homes in caves and mines. However, if bats are in houses homeowner may seal off the attic to keep the bats out. Most homeowners use bat houses which look similar to birdhouses and they are up high on a tree or a pole.
These bat houses have openings in the bottom that allow the bats to fly up and into the house and rest on perches that are secured inside. They look like little bird condominiums to the regular observer, however, the telltale entry is at the bottom of the bat house so that they can fly up and in as they prefer.
It’s not uncommon for homeowners to have more than one bat house. For those homeowners who may have an old mine or cave on their property, the bats will usually go there if the attic is suddenly sealed off.
Caves are the ideal safe place for bats during the day. They can hang upside down in the darkness and stay safe from would-be predators. They don’t have to worry about sleeping arrangements, they all crowd together on rocks or perches in order to sleep.
Mother bats will give birth in Mid-May to pups. These pups won’t be able to fly for several weeks after they’ve been born. For this reason, it’s important to give them their space during those weeks. Since bats are considered an endangered species it’s important to keep this in mind.
You can’t legally remove the bats from caves however, you can post bat houses and allow the bats to move there. Bats are an important part of the ecosystem. They will eat up to 3000 insects per day alone. This helps to keep mosquitos at bay.
Bats have lived successfully in caves for centuries. When asked “do bats live in caves?” the answer is a resounding yes, along with other areas where they feel safe such as attics, old barn rafters, and old mines that have been left unused for years.

A Look at the History of Birmingham MI
One of the fascinating things about small townships and villages throughout the United States is the fact that they all have a history. In fact, some of the most unassuming areas may have had occurrences in the past that would likely rival some of the things that we hear about in the news today. The more you learn about an area, the more you begin to appreciate all that happened in order to bring about the rich heritage. Such is the case when you learn about the history of Birmingham MI. It may not be a large city, but it certainly has an interesting history.
As was the case when many communities came into being two centuries ago, the community of Birmingham was originally purchased by 4 different men who purchase the four parcels in 1818 that would eventually become the area that is still Birmingham. A man by the name of John West Hunter was the first one to move into Birmingham and he built a log cabin in the area in 1819. They then began to develop an interest in the area that was unique compared to similar communities.
In the early 1800s, it was common for community developers to attract farmers to the area because of the rich soil and the ability to grow good crops. That wasn’t the vision of these four men who purchased the land that would eventually become Birmingham. What they wanted was businesses in the area, so they began to attract people who would bring their business with them, including blacksmiths, foundries, tanneries, and factories for making brick. In fact, the name of Birmingham was even chosen because they wanted to present an optimistic outlook about the possibility of growth that was held out in the village. Truly, these were enterprising individuals.
As is the case in many areas, the manufacturers who had entered into Birmingham during the 1830s were now gone only three decades later. Although they had originally considered the area to be a booming industrial center, it now became more of a sleepy, quiet village that will be full of individuals who are just trying to live a fairly simple life. A number of professionals moved into the area, including lawyers, doctors, and dentists and a newspaper was established. By the time the end of the 1800s rolled around, improvements were being considered and they were even bringing in a new fire department and clean water along with a library.
There are many things to be considered when you look back at the history of Birmingham MI. The fact of the matter is, however, the city owes its unique existence and its quaint atmosphere to the many different things that occurred almost 2 centuries ago. Most people probably will never even think about what took place in the area prior to the time that it became what it is today. Regardless of whether they think about it or not, the history speaks for itself.
